How To Take Advantage Of Facebook’s Call-To-Action Button

There is a great new feature appearing on Facebook Pages, which you might not be taking advantage of yet. On your Facebook Page you should see something new called the ‘Call-To-Action’ button. If you haven’t got it yet, don’t panic. Facebook is rolling it out to everyone so you it will be with you soon.

The studies Facebook did during testing found that users were seeing strong conversion rates simply from having these little buttons on their pages. All you need to do is click on ‘Create Call-To-Action’ and a pop-up box will appear giving you the following button options…

Book Now, Contact Us, Use App, Play Game, Shop Now, Sign Up and Watch Video.

Facebook Button Options

If you do a lot of lead generation on Facebook sending your fans to sign-up pages, then the ‘Sign Up’ button is a great one for you. If you sell products online then the ‘Shop Now’ would be ideal for providing a link to your online shop.

Once you have chosen your button, paste the corresponding URL in the website box. If your website is mobile-ready then you shouldn’t need to paste a link in the mobile space too, but you can if you want to be safe. If you have a separate mobile site, then paste a link to it in the mobile box.

Next you will be taken through some options for people using iOS (iPhone or iPad) and Android. Stick with ‘website’ unless you have an app you want people to go to. Then that’s it! Your button should be set up for you.

When users click your button, the link opens up in a new window so people can still jump back to your Facebook Page when they’re finished with your website or sign-up page.

Facebook shows you the number of people have clicked that button in the last 7 days in the right-hand column on your page. Watch the number and hopefully you will start to see it go up. Don’t expect a rush of traffic but there should be a little bit of activity. It’s an extra free tool so any result is a positive result!

Please do let me know what kind of results you get from this button and how you’re using it. I’ll be really interested to hear your stories.
